This painting is made with acrylic pouring paint and oil paint on canvas. Here, depicted is a strong female profile. Although her eyes are closed, she is immitting a confident, yet reserved, rebellious, yet wise, energy. Her face tells the story of any woman who has felt like she has been underestimated, looked down on, or undervalued, simply because of her looks or that she is a woman. I discovered after graduating high school, that society doesn't actually expect much out of women except to look pretty and act lady-like (whatever that means). This painting reflects the resignation and frustration that comes from being seen as a shell, and at the same time knowing that there is so much more than meets the eye. You can be bursting with brilliance, as long as you remember that it doesn't matter if anyone notices. Anyone who is worth anything will notice that which is worth everything- and it has nothing to do with looks. Stay Empowered.
