This is a painting done with acrylic pouring paint and classic acrylic paint on canvas, including multimedia touches such as goldleaf. The meaning behind this piece is that every child is raised to know what their caregivers tell them and any information they get from their early experiences. As we all grow older, part of our job as people is to break down certain illusions that we grow up with to write our own story and discover our own truths. A lot of us grow up thinking that the world is one way and they want to be one thing, only to eventually realize that the world is completely different than they imagined, causing a shift in interests and values.Sometimes we have to scrape away what we already know until we can see blank canvas, so that we can rebuild the way we look at ourselves and the environment that surrounds us.
