This is a watercolor painting on canvas, touched up with oil paint. Have you ever used those stargazing apps to be able to look up into the night sky and know which stars, planets, and constellations you are looking at exactly? Me too, usually at the beach. I wanted to capture the feeling of intense serenity one feels when studying the starry sky, and the feeling of being so small, yet so connected with everyone else who are looking at these same stars as you are. Looking at the sky and being able to see planets is an absolute wonder, one that I regularly forget to appreciate. I hope this painting reminds you to look up at the sky at night and know that you can do whatever you want because nothing actually matters in this great big universe of ours.
