This piece was painted with watercolor on canvas. The focal point of this artwork is obviously the lone hydrangea, which is strange because they usually grow in bunches on a hydrangea bush. Right away, you kind of get the feeling that this little flower is packed with attitude; there are swirls of conflicting color going on behind it, and yet the stem bends and sways in tandem with the background patterns with ease. Maybe this painting is an indication that growth is not done in mighty bunches, but in focusing on one thing at a time, so as not to become overwhelmed. Beauty does not need to be in abundance to be considered beautiful.
